So I have been trying to expand my designer database thingie, basically i normally stick to about 5 designers and i think it id time to change that so I have looked around at the others and mainly looking for things that will help inspire my work and me with my designs. Not coping but when the outfits are put on celebs that inspire me already and that outfit on the celebs looks amazing it helps inspire that type of style/garments/detailing I want to put into my designs and creations.
I love these heavily embellished dresses on Taylor swift, theses dresses are all about the detailing and the back of the dress creates the wow factor.
I love the red dress in the middle, it reminds me of Katniss from the hunger games with the red fire dress. It wasn’t the actual dress that Katniss wore in the film but it defiantly has this fire effect about it.
Each dress is unique with its styling and embellishments. I love the black dresses in the picture above, each very similar in detail but each very different in cut and silhouette and styling.
I think it okay to say that Zuhair Murad is becoming one of my favourite designers of all time. with my all time favourite celebrities wearing Zuhair’s dresses I will defiantly be using them as inspiration.
I know in america it is spelt color but i’m British :P. I love using colour and am a colourful person. I am not afraid to use a lot of colour as long as they look okay together and don’t create a big clash i’m happy to combine them.
I think pastels and light colours are beautiful, they each give their own affect to the hair style and the person. I love these two images.
I think black and red are a very good combination, its more red than black and yet it gives off a beautiful Gothic romance style/look.
^^^ This is just gorgeous, so many curls and so many colours <3
I want my hair to be this colour one day :O <3 I really love all the colour tones in purple and one day if I’m brave enough to do this to my hair I will do because is it simply beautiful.
Never be afraid to use colour! As it can defiantly bring a lot of drawings, fashion, personalities and other stuff to life.
The last few months when I go shopping I’ve noticed a lot of clothing have the peter pan collar (which I love) and also a lot of these collars are embellished, weather its the entire collar or just the tip of it they still look amazing, I am gunna try and make one over the Christmas period and I will put a post up of it for you…. If I succeed in doing it 😛
Images are not mine – found most of them on tumblr.
I like the mix of sequins and beads on this peter pan collar.
I love the detachable collars as you can dress up an old t-shirt or even a new one that doesn’t have a collar. You can even wear it with a dress.
I have always loved beading and sequin detailing, I have done it multiply times and find the process enjoyable… when I have the time to do it and if there is a boring TV show on lol
If you have Patience and a lot of time on yours hands I would suggest giving it ago.
Alexander McQueen is a big inspirational point for me. i love the avant garde look that every collection has even after he has passed. His (or hers, i am never too sure what way round i should be saying it now) Spring/Summer 2013 collection is stunning. It stands out from all the rest as it isn’t your typical spring flowers print or embellishments, and yes Sarah has used flower embellishments and such but it not so that is is too over powering but she has added a twist to the recent Alexander McQueen collection by using a completely different print: Bees and the bee hive.
i’m loving the prints and the colours, i love how they have brought back the cage corset and played around with it to create the peplum which is high in trend at the moment.
i think the neutral make up was the best way to go because i think i would have distracted from all the outfits.
these red dresses are my favorite ones. i love the one on the right (the one with the small black flower embellishments) it makes it look like a lady bug dress from a distance.
Some of these dresses have a huge amount of smoocking on them, i struggled a lot with this technique. I can just image them doing it, but they have a big team so i’m sure they had several people working on it at once.
over all i love this collection, kept up with the trends. A range of designs and detailing, and there is a lot of detailing but that is typical McQueen styling, its like Alexander hasn’t even left us 🙂
